The risks of LASIK

Laser eye surgery is at the moment without any sign of doubt the most efficient way of treating common vision problems. Its benefits and advantages are huge, at least compared to classic vision correction techniques and they encourage a lot of people to become patients despite the relatively high financial costs of the intervention.

Another concern of many laser eye surgery patients is the fact that the effects of this type of intervention are not reversible and this of course would not be a problem in case it is a total success. However, there are patients that have reported glares, halos and dry eyes after going through LASIK and even if most of them disappeared in just a couple of days, in rare cases they were permanent.

Overall LASIK is definitely one of the safest eye correction technique and even if there are certain risks that you have to be aware of, they are minimal.
